Although lots of people are married in the Bible, there are no descriptions of any ceremonies. Adam and Eve are “married” simply by the fact that they are made for each other and they procreate. Jacob marries Leah by mistake, which happens not because of a disguised bride at a wedding ceremony, but because he consummates the marriage in the darkness of a tent. Jesus attends a wedding in Cana which consists of a family party, but no ceremony is described. The only “ceremony” I can find in the Bible is Tobit 7:12-14 in which a father places the hand of his daughter in the hand of the husband, and then writes a contract. Imagine this: A young man, untaught in things of decoration, becomes apprentice to a master decorator. One day the Master tells him to get a tin of red paint and to paint a wall in a house. Later, the Master enters the room to find it painted blue! “What on earth have you done? Your mistake will cost me money and time!” The apprentice looks hurt and says “But, I looked at all the tins of red and saw this one saying ‘blue’. I preferred it and thought I could just rename it ‘red’.” Do you think his excuse made sense? Of course not! Over the course of my reading and study of the Bible, I have to appreciate the definition of TRUTH as only that which God Himself in His word defines as true. To paraphrase,  if it is not in conformity with God’s truth, then it is a lie. The general finding from my studies is that we men can not agree upon the definition of TRUTH because we are a bunch of scheming swindlers who only want to accept the truths that fit our fantasies.  Most educated people in Kenya are poor. Not just poor, but very Poor. Why? Because 80% of the educated people in Kenya earn less than Kshs. 50,000 for a salary before tax and other deductions. When the deductions are put into consideration, the net salary comes to around Kshs 35,000. The net salary then suffers from loan deductions of up to 10,000 leaving the salary at around kshs 25,000. The landlord then demands for his 10,000 and monthly shopping takes away 5,000 leaving one with a 10,000. The bus will demand for 4,000 going to and from work and relatives get another 2,000. Remaining 5,000 can't even take care of one kid in a nice private school, whole salary is gone and borrowed money starts operating. The borrowed money includes short loans and salary advances whereby payment is up to 50% in interest. The difference between poverty and prosperity is property.
